My figurative work has a multitude of influences and layers of meaning. I use real things from nature, whether it be dried herbs, flowers or tree pieces to sculpt my paintings. Inspiration comes from my thoughts, feelings and experiences as I use my tattoo influence to bring my figurative work into the third dimension.
flowers.
These flowers are much larger than life and have a presence that cannot be ignored! The center of these paintings are textured with dried flower petal, bringing the flowers through the full circle of life! The large size of these pieces has allowed me to explore a looser form of expression through my paintings.
clay.
Every time I touch clay, a figure emerges. These are my most recent works, as I am now sculpting flowers out of clay as well as including real natural materials and transforming them into sculptural paintings.
nature.
These landscapes are created with real nature. As they emerge into the third dimension, they are given a life of their own.
design.
During my work as a graphic designer, I am continually bringing my influence from nature into my digital work. Although design is not my main avenue of creation lately, I still incorporate my design influence into parts of my life and artwork every day.
