About Kristin Foley

I grew up in an agricultural area of Western New York State and have sought an interest in artwork since childhood. After high school, I spent a few years at the State University of New York at Fredonia on Lake Erie. From there, I moved to the mountains of North Carolina. I settled in Boone home of Appalachian State University. I currently reside in the Deep Gap area.

I have always been an animal lover, owning an array of pets from hamsters, rabbits and hermit crabs to my current buddy, Goober. Goober is a fun-loving hound dog / lab mix and has been a blessing to my life.

Whether it be through animals or plant life, Nature has always been an important part of my life. My home town of Cuba, NY is small. I think making art prevented me from dying of sheer boredom in high school. With enough practice and encouragement, it continued to be my passion throughout college and unto today.

Currently I have been dealing with some health issues, including newly diagnosed Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetes, diabetic neuropathy and Fibromyalgia.  This has dampened my artistic creativity and capability the past few years but I am currently focusing my energy on going back to school to get my BFA in Ceramics/Printmaking and Graphic Design.

One of my greatest pleasures is seeing how much people love my work. This is why I do not only create work for myself, but for everyone else to enjoy on a personal level. So, if you have a certain portrait, picture or landscape that you would love incorporated into my style of work, please contact me and let me help you.
